In pure rasterization the RTX 5090 pulls ahead by roughly 25-30 percent over the 5080. That gap widens to 35-40 percent in ray tracing heavy titles. But here is the thing: the 5080 is already pushing 4K at 120+ FPS in most modern games.
The Value Proposition
At $999 vs $1599 the 5080 delivers about 75 percent of the performance for 63 percent of the price. For most gamers that math speaks for itself.
My Take
Unless you are doing serious 3D rendering or AI model training save the $600 and put it toward a better monitor or more RAM. The 5080 is the card to buy this generation.
